Football Recap: Zabreylan Mcswain and Devontaivian Tucker Pace Richton Defense

After flying high against Resurrection Catholic last Friday, Richton came back down to earth. The Rebels took a 19-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lumberton Panthers on Friday. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Richton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Zabreylan McSwain and Devontaivian Tucker. Richton got some further help from Oj Reed: he made 14 total tackles (1.0 for loss).

Richton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Lumberton, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Richton is set to square off against their familiar foe Stringer at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: B.J. Brown and Jaheim Campbell. Meanwhile, Lumberton will face off against rival Resurrection Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
