Basketball Game Preview: Grenada Chargers vs. Lake Cormorant

The Grenada Chargers will face off against Lake Cormorant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grenada is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Winona 68-22. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Grenada's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Carlei Brown, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards, and Elyse Dorris, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. Dorris is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 31 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Addyson White, who had eight points and three steals.

Grenada was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Lake Cormorant had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They secured a 45-39 W over the Patriots.

Lake Cormorant has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season. As for Grenada, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Grenada beat Lake Cormorant 60-49 in their previous matchup back in February. Will Grenada repeat their success, or does Lake Cormorant have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
