Football Recap: Tripp Dalton Leads Pensacola Catholic's Defense on Friday + How To Watch

Pensacola Catholic's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They strolled past the Godby Cougars with points to spare, taking the game 42-28.

One reason for the win was Pensacola Catholic's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for seven sacks. Godby's QB won't forget Tripp Dalton anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Dalton is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least five every time he's taken the field this season. Pensacola Catholic got some further help from Gavin Lashley: he forced one fumble, made ten total tackles, and defended one pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Godby's loss came despite strong showings from Kamren McMillan and Jamarin Simmons. McMillan rushed for 80 yards and three TDs, while Simmons gained 108 total yards. Landon Dougherty was another key player, having thrown for 267 yards and onetouchdown.

Pensacola Catholic now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Godby, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Pensacola Catholic will be playing at home against Montgomery Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Godby, they will head out to square off against Suwannee at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Cougars their first taste of in-conference action this season.
