Volleyball Game Preview: Bay Rockets vs. Buchtel Griffins

After both having extra time off, the Bay Rockets and the Buchtel Griffins will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bay is coming into the contest hot, having won their last nine games.

On Thursday, Bay got the win against Valley Forge by a conclusive 3-0.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Bay was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-12.

Bay found their leader in sophomore Payton Masterson, who had seven digs and five aces.

Meanwhile, Buchtel came up short against Garfield on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Buchtel started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 24-26, 25-9, 25-19, 25-18.

Bay will have to contain Kimora Jackson as she made an impact in Buchtel's last game. She had nine digs and eight assists.

Buchtel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Bay, their victory bumped their record up to 20-2.
