Baseball Recap: Crete-Monee Extends Winning Streak to Five

Crete-Monee waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Thornridge Falcons a 17-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 15-0 victory on Monday.

Bren Milburn was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with eight stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Wiley, who went 1-for-2 with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Crete-Monee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .621. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Crete-Monee's win bumped their record up to 21-11. As for Thornridge, they are on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crete-Monee will face off against Shepard at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Thornridge, they will be taking part in a tournament against Payton College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
