Baseball Recap: Meek Comes Up Short

Meek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Athens Bible Trojans, falling 15-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Monday.

Meek got a good showing from Cooper Price, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Price has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Meek saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Lane, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Dawson Beasley also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Athens Bible, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Meek beat Athens Bible by a score of 4-3 later that day.
