Soccer Recap: Central Catholic Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

It's playoff time, and Central Catholic had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Sheldon Irish on Saturday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Central Catholic's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Sheldon are ranked 76th).

Central Catholic pushed their record up to 14-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those eight matchups. As for Sheldon, the loss snapped their winning streak at three matches and leaves them with a 7-5-4 record.
