Basketball Recap: Victory Christian Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Victory Christian can now relate to. They took a 66-47 bruising from the Elite Eagles on Friday.

Despite the loss, Victory Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Luke Smith posted 25 points. The match was Smith's 16th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Milward, who earned eight points.

Victory Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 18-9. As for Elite, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-19 record this season.

Victory Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elite, they will challenge Stone Ridge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elite knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Stone Ridge Christian likes a good challenge.
