Softball Recap: King George Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but King George ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Eastern View Cyclones 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Foxes have posted since April 11, 2024.

Kelsea Minter spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on nine hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Kallie Slovack was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

The victory made it two in a row for King George and bumps their season record up to 4-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Eastern View, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. King George will host Hanover at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eastern View, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Courtland at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
