Basketball Game Preview: Willow Spring Storm vs. South Garner Titans

The Willow Spring Storm will challenge the South Garner Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Willow Spring earned a 62-55 win over Southeast Raleigh.

Willow Spring's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Xavion Terrell led the charge by going 8-for-11 to rack up 20 points and eight rebounds. What's more, Terrell also posted a 73% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Grant Overman, who posted ten points along with seven boards and seven blocks.

Meanwhile, South Garner was able to grind out a solid victory over Fuquay - Varina on Friday, taking the game 73-63. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Bengals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Willow Spring has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for South Garner, their victory bumped their record up to 9-14.

Willow Spring didn't have too much breathing room in their game against South Garner in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 64-58 win. Will Willow Spring repeat their success, or does South Garner have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
