Basketball Game Preview: Fairfax Stampede vs. Alhambra Lions

Fairfax is on a three-game streak of home losses, Alhambra a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck will change on Monday. The Fairfax Stampede will host the Alhambra Lions at 5:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Thursday, Fairfax ended up a good deal behind Youngker and lost 55-36.

Meanwhile, Alhambra lost 67-43 to McClintock on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 309th, while the Chargers are ranked 144th).

Fairfax's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Alhambra, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-18.

Fairfax beat Alhambra 57-47 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Fairfax repeat their success, or does Alhambra have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
