Baseball Recap: Rocket City Comes Up Short

Rocket City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Grundy County Yellowjackets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Rockets of the 8-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Christian Nobles was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Briggs Brady also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Rocket City's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Grundy County, they moved to 3-10 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Rocket City will take on Giles County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grundy County, they will be playing at home against Forrest at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be Grundy County's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
