Softball Recap: Martinsburg Takes a Loss

Martinsburg lost against Hedgesville back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs came up short against the Eagles, falling 17-9. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly eight runs.

Kamyia Cole-Redman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. DJ Houser also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Martinsburg and nudges their season record down to 4-16. As for Hedgesville, the victory got them back to even at 10-10-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Martinsburg will head out to square off against Mountain Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Hedgesville, they will venture away from home to face off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
