Football Preview: Cherokee Warriors vs. Etowah Eagles        
        
		
             Cherokee has been on the road for two straight, but  on Friday they'll finally head home. They will host the Etowah Eagles  at 7:30  p.m. Cherokee knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Etowah likes a good challenge.
 Last Friday, Cherokee didn't have too much trouble with North Paulding on the road   as they won  47-28.
  Tanner Savasir continued  his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 265 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. The dominant performance gave  him a new career-high in  rushing yards.  Malakiah Echols was  Savasir's top target, picking up 55 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Etowah's offense. They were beaten by Marietta 34-0 two weeks ago. The  contest marked the first time this season in which the Eagles were not able to get on the board.
 Cherokee's victory  ended  a  five-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 3-2. As for Etowah, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
 Cherokee couldn't quite finish off Etowah in their previous matchup  back in August of 2023 and fell  28-26. Can Cherokee avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
