It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hickory Christian Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Thomas More Academy Chancellors by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their 11-game winning streak.

Hickory Christian Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (100-92), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-18, 11-25, 16-25, 25-23, 15-9.

When it comes to explaining why Hickory Christian Academy lost, don't look at Kamryn Sain. Despite the final result, she had 12 digs and seven aces. Sain is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Portia Hale was nothing short of spectacular for St. Thomas More Academy: she had 47 digs and two aces. What's more, Hale racked up eight assists, the most she's had since back in September.

Hickory Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for St. Thomas More Academy, their victory was their 13th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-1.

Hickory Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Thomas More Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Gaston Day at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
