Baseball Game Preview: Schoharie Storm vs. Middleburgh Knights

Schoharie has gone 7-1 against Middleburgh recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Storm will be playing at home against the Knights at 7:00 p.m. Schoharie will be strutting in after a victory while Middleburgh will be coming in after a loss.

Schoharie took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Berne-Knox-Westerlo a 4-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Eddison Wayman-Bender's shutout, as he gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. Schoharie is undefeated when Wayman-Bender posts eight or more strikeouts, but 3-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Zaiden Baker was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple and one run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Middleburgh unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 6-3 to Fort Plain.

Schoharie's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Middleburgh, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
