Football Recap: Capistrano Valley Takes a Loss

Capistrano Valley extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-7. They lost 20-0 to the Centennial Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 474th, while the Huskies are ranked 118th).

As for Centennial, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.8 points on average over those games.

The critical scores for Centennial came from Maleeya Hunt and Jenna Shalabi.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Capistrano Valley is set to challenge their familiar foe Beckman on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Centennial will face off against rival Roosevelt at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
