Softball Game Preview: Albany Huskies vs. Pierz Pioneers

The Albany Huskies will head out to take on the Pierz Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Albany is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

On Tuesday, Albany came up short against St. Cloud Cathedral and fell 7-4.

Meanwhile, Pierz was able to grind out a solid victory over Sauk Centre on Wednesday, taking the game 4-1. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Mainstreeters: they've now won four in a row.

Albany's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Pierz, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.

Albany took their win against Pierz in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Huskies since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
