Basketball Game Preview: Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers vs. Pine Bluffs Hornets

Lingle-Fort Laramie is 2-8 against Pine Bluffs since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 4:00 p.m. without much rest, having both just played. Lingle-Fort Laramie will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Lingle-Fort Laramie is headed into the contest after thoroughly thrashing Guernsey-Sunrise: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Lingle-Fort Laramie blew Guernsey-Sunrise out of the water with a 78-17 final score. The Doggers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 18 games by 20 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Brody Roberts, who went 6-for-7 on his way to 16 points and four steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last 11 games he's played. Skyler Thomas was another key player, going 5-for-6 en route to 10 points.

Meanwhile, Pine Bluffs was able to grind out a solid victory over Niobrara County on Friday, taking the game 58-48.

Lingle-Fort Laramie pushed their record up to 21-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.1 points over those games. As for Pine Bluffs, their victory bumped their record up to 12-9.

Lingle-Fort Laramie took their win against Pine Bluffs in their previous matchup on February 1st by a conclusive 56-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lingle-Fort Laramie since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
