Basketball Preview: Heritage Hawks vs. St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings
The Heritage Hawks will head out on the road to square off against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Georgia (Heritage is ranked 72nd, while the Vikings are ranked 74th).
Last Tuesday, Heritage was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-46 to the Hornets. Heritage has struggled against the Hornets recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, St. Anne-Pacelli came tearing into Tuesday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past Strong Rock Christian 46-20. St. Anne-Pacelli has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.
Mckayla Hosley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Za?niya Crouch, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Heritage's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 16-2. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
