Soccer Game Preview: Maple Mountain vs. Salem Hills

The Maple Mountain Eagles will challenge the Salem Hills Skyhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.

Maple Mountain's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Payson by a score of 2-0. Given Maple Mountain's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah soccer rankings (they are ranked 28th, while Payson are ranked 105th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Salem Hills' game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They put the hurt on Springville with a sharp 4-1 win.

Salem Hills hit the Red Devils with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brooks Barker (2), Keller Beck, and Angel De Le Torre.

Maple Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Salem Hills, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Maple Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Salem Hills when the teams last played back in March, winning 3-1. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Skyhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
