Baseball Game Preview: Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs vs. Schoharie Storm

The Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs will face off against the Schoharie Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cobleskill-Richmondville's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three games.

While Cobleskill-Richmondville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Fort Plain with a sharp 12-1 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Matt Gunzinger was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Brandon Rotman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Johnstown hit Schoharie with a four-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Storm lost 10-4 to the Sir Bills.

Luke Stevens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Cobleskill-Richmondville's victory bumped their record up to 5-1-1. As for Schoharie, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Cobleskill-Richmondville has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Schoharie struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
