Basketball Game Preview: Harvard Hornets vs. Genoa-Kingston Cogs

Harvard is 1-6 against Genoa-Kingston since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Harvard Hornets will square off against the Genoa-Kingston Cogs at 7:00 p.m. Genoa-Kingston took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Harvard, who comes in off a win.

Harvard took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top against Marengo by a score of 56-48.

Meanwhile, Genoa-Kingston fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Dixon on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 65-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dukes & Duchesses. The Cogs haven't had much luck with the Dukes & Duchesses recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Genoa-Kingston's loss dropped their record down to 13-15. As for Harvard, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 5-18.

Things could have been worse for Harvard, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-36 loss to Genoa-Kingston in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Harvard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
