Softball Game Preview: Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

The Mater Dei Catholic Crusaders will be taking part in a tournament against the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mater Dei Catholic is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.

Mater Dei Catholic's tournament run continued when they took on Del Norte on Monday. Mater Dei Catholic walked away with a 7-4 win over Del Norte.

Bella Harris was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Bella HIner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel hadn't done well against Steele Canyon recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Mt. Carmel came out on top against Steele Canyon by a score of 8-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sundevils.

Jordan Grimaud was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Madie Codner, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Mater Dei Catholic's record is now 3-0. As for Mt. Carmel, their record is now 2-0.

Mater Dei Catholic beat Mt. Carmel 8-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2022. Will Mater Dei Catholic repeat their success, or does Mt. Carmel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
