Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Northeast Jones' Ninth in Last 11 Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Northeast Jones rose to the challenge on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over Bay. The result was nothing new for Northeast Jones, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Ty'Kerria Caballero made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Caballero was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Madison Evans was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Hannah Harrison was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Northeast Jones was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in 11 consecutive games.

Northeast Jones has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Bay, they dropped their record down to 9-18 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

As of now, neither Northeast Jones nor Bay have any future games scheduled.
