Preview: Plainfield Quakers vs. Franklin Central Flashes

The Plainfield Quakers will head out on the road to take on the Franklin Central Flashes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Plainfield is ranked 32nd, while Franklin Central is ranked 39th).

Plainfield suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Wednesday. They were the victim of a tough 61-39 defeat at the hands of Franklin Community. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Plainfield in their matchups with Franklin Community: they've now lost four in a row.

Plainfield's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Hannah Menser, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Payton Benge who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Menser has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Franklin Central waltzed into their matchup on Friday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 57-47 victory over Avon. 57 seems to be a good number for Franklin Central as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Plainfield's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5. As for Franklin Central, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-7.

Plainfield ended up a good deal behind Franklin Central in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, losing 50-35. Can Plainfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
