Ellington took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Fredericktown, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Megan Copeland paced Ellington's offense, picking up 14 kills. Copeland got some help from Tayleigh Cowin and her 29 assists. Finally, Lilyanah Tisdale kept Ellington's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.
Ellington's win bumped their record up to 14-3-1. As for Fredericktown, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.
Coming up, Ellington will host Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fredericktown, they have already played their next match, a 3-2 victory against Crystal City on the 22nd.
