Football Recap: Muncie Central Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Muncie Central had won two straight games and Mason Ferguson did his part to make it three on Friday. The Bearcats blew past the Anderson Indians 42-6 for which the team can thank Ferguson, who threw for 152 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Muncie Central's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

Rex Vargas helped Ferguson out on the ground, rushing for 58 yards and one score. Vargas also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making five total tackles (1.5 for loss).

Muncie Central's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB six times. Leading the way was Demarshuwn Clemens with two sacks. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Muncie Central now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Anderson, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
