Basketball Recap: Rock Hill Redmen vs. Ironton Fighting Tigers
Rock Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 48-47 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ironton Fighting Tigers. The Redmen were up 20-2 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Several Redmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kelan Davidson, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. Davidson is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in each of the last 16 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Rylan Barker, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 13 points and five assists.
Even though they lost, Rock Hill smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ironton only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
Braden Schreck was his usual excellent self, going 8-for-20 on his way to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists for Ironton. That makes it three consecutive games in which Schreck has scored at least a third of Ironton's points. Carson Freeman was another key player, putting up three points.
Rock Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Ironton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.
Looking ahead, Rock Hill will head out on the road to challenge Belpre at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ironton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dawson-Bryant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Ironton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.9 points per game this season.
