Christ Covenant takes loss despite strong performances from JD Dill and Noah Stein

Recap: Christ Covenant Spartan vs. New Bern Christian Academy

The Christ Covenant Spartan's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 80-53 loss at the hands of New Bern Christian Academy. Christ Covenant has struggled against New Bern Christian Academy recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Christ Covenant's loss came despite strong showings from Noah Stein and JD Dill. Stein scored 17 points along with five steals, while Dill scored 22 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dill has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jakob Ange, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.

New Bern Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from KC Peter, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Coghill, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Christ Covenant dropped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for New Bern Christian Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Christ Covenant will head out on the road to square off against Faith Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Christ Covenant focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for New Bern Christian Academy, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Christ Covenant at 7:00 p.m. on February 12th.
