Soccer Recap: New Hanover Starts Season with Win at Home

New Hanover gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Croatan Cougars a 2-0 shutout. New Hanover haven't had any issues with Croatan recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Deyson Castillo and Keinner Martinez scored both of New Hanover's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

New Hanover has already played their next matchup, a 4-1 victory against Sanderson on the 16th. As for Croatan, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 3-3 draw against Southern Nash on the 16th.
