The Design Tech Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Summit Shasta Black Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summit Shasta took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Design Tech, who comes in off a win.
Design Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 21-3 margin over KIPP San Jose Collegiate on Tuesday. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Aidan Tom and Charles Poole made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Tom struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Poole pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Tom earned one RBI, one run, and two stolen bases, while Poole went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Design Tech is undefeated when Tom posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-6-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, Diego Carrasco was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Zetter, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Design Tech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .707. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
More hit Summit Shasta with a six-run second inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Black Bears lost 10-3 to the Knights. The Black Bears haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Jalen Mingao was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Mingao was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Mingao wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was LeBryan Marcial, who went 3-for-4 with one run.
Design Tech's record now sits at 11-6-1. As for Summit Shasta, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Design Tech has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Summit Shasta struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Design Tech's way against Summit Shasta when the teams last played back in May of 2025, as Design Tech made off with a 12-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Dragons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
