Volleyball Game Preview: Elgin Maroons vs. Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans

The Elgin Maroons will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against the Illinois Math & Science Academy Titans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses dating back to last season for Elgin and seven for Illinois Math & Science Academy dating back to last season.

Elgin saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Streamwood.

Meanwhile, Illinois Math & Science Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Joliet West by a score of 2-0.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-11.

Illinois Math & Science Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Elgin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Elgin beat Illinois Math & Science Academy 2-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Elgin since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
