Baseball Recap: Franklin Central Takes a Loss

Franklin Central lost against Hamilton Southeastern back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Flashes fell just short of the Royals by a score of 3-2.

Nevan Tutterow spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits. Franklin Central is 2-1 when Tutterow allows one or fewer earned runs, but 3-17 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Franklin Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carson Back, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Franklin Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they moved to 11-17 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Franklin Central will take on Decatur Central at 7:30 p.m. on the 31st. As for Hamilton Southeastern, they will face off against Fishers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
