Softball Recap: Acadiana Christian Comes Up Short

Acadiana Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 16-12 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Psalms Christian Academy Ambassadors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (11), the Defenders still had to take the loss.

Natalee Gilcrease was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Gilcrease was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Catherine Tupper led a balanced group of hitters, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-5. Grace Bollich was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.

Even though they lost, Acadiana Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .436. The last time their batting average was this high was since the start of last season.

Acadiana Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Psalms Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Acadiana Christian didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 17-10 loss against Christian Home Educators Fellowship on the 10th. As for Psalms Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 24-1 victory against Varsity Opponent on the 10th.
