Baseball Game Preview: Argo Argonauts vs. Bremen Braves

Argo is 2-7 against Bremen since May of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Argonauts will head out to square off against the Braves at 4:30 p.m. Argo has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Richards hit Argo with a six-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Argonauts lost 11-0 to the Bulldogs. The Argonauts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Argo saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valente Melero, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Bremen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Oak Forest, falling 12-3.

Jose Hernandez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.

Argo's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Bremen, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Argo has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bremen struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Argo skirted past Bremen 4-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Argonauts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
