Softball Game Preview: White Plains Tigers vs. Shenendehowa Plainsmen

The White Plains Tigers will face off against the Shenendehowa Plainsmen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. White Plains will be looking to extend their current 15-game winning streak.

White Plains is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Ketcham. Considering the Tigers have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Alexis Tighe made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Tighe was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run.

In other batting news, Emily Anastacio was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double. Ava Ritterman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

White Plains kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Shenendehowa faced Colonie Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Plainsmen had just enough and edged out the Wolfpack 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Plainsmen as they're now sitting on seven straight.

White Plains' record now sits at 19-3. As for Shenendehowa, their record is now 18-2.
