Soccer Game Preview: Roane County vs. Rockwood

The Roane County Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Rockwood Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Roane County is coming into the match hot, having won their last eight games.

Roane County's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Oliver Springs with a sharp 7-0 victory. Considering Roane County have won five games by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Rockwood fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Harriman by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday.

Roane County's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those four matches. As for Rockwood, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Roane County took their win against Rockwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
