Basketball Recap: Westmont Hilltop Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Westmont Hilltop won the last time they faced Clearfield and things went their way on Monday too. The Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers strolled past the Clearfield Bison with points to spare, taking the game 70-53. Given the Hilltoppers' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Bison are ranked 220th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

When it comes to explaining why Clearfield lost, don't look at Braison Patrick. Despite the final result, he almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Patrick a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Glunt, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

Westmont Hilltop is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game.
