Baseball Recap: Brandeis Drops Highest Score of Season Against Churchill

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Brandeis). They came out on top against the Churchill Chargers by a score of 13-8 on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Broncos as they're now sitting on four straight.

Brady Wells looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brandeis got a massive performance out of Nate McCarty, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ty Jeter, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Brandeis always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Brandeis' win bumped their record up to 10-4-1. As for Churchill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Brandeis will have a chance to go back-to-back against Churchill: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
