Conestoga fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Marple Newtown on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 13-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fightin' Tigers. The Pioneers' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Conestoga's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 6-3. As for Marple Newtown, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 10-0.

Conestoga and Marple Newtown should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Pioneers will square off against Penncrest at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (108 vs. 349). Meanwhile, Marple Newtown (ranked 22nd) will meet Ridley (ranked 310th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
