Meanwhile, Indianapolis Lutheran got themselves on the board against Speedway on Tuesday, but Speedway never followed suit. They blew past the Sparkplugs 16-0. Considering the Saints have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hudson Mills made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in June of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles.
In other pitching news, Ryan Redding looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Masen Phelps was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Dax Lockliear, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Indianapolis Lutheran kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Indianapolis Lutheran pushed their record up to 15-10 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Greenwood Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 13-14.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Greenwood Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Indianapolis Lutheran struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.5 strikeouts.
