Football Recap: Zane Clark Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Arapahoe

Alma hadn't done well against Arapahoe recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Cardinals came out on top in a nail-biter against the Warriors, sneaking past 36-34. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 56-16 win the Warriors walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Alma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zane Clark, who picked up 101 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Clark a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Biskup, who picked up 114 receiving yards and one score.

When it comes to explaining why Arapahoe lost, don't look at Briggs Hill. Despite the final result, he rushed for 147 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 carries. Another player making a difference was Hayden Sich, who rushed for 214 yards and one touchdown.

The win got Alma back to even at 3-3. As for Arapahoe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coming up, Alma will challenge Dundy County-Stratton on Friday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Arapahoe, they will square off against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
