Football Recap: Zane Clark Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Arapahoe

Alma took a 40-point loss the last time they faced off against Arapahoe, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Cardinals sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 36-34 win over the Warriors on Friday. The score was all tied up 6-6 at the break, but the Cardinals were the better team in the second half.

Alma's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zane Clark, who picked up 101 receiving yards and three TDs. Those three receiving touchdowns gave Clark a new career-high. Tucker Biskup also helped out as he racked up 114 receiving yards.

Despite the loss, Arapahoe still got an impressive performance from Briggs Hill, who rushed for 168 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries. Hayden Sich also helped out as he racked up 215 rushing yards.

The win got Alma back to even at 3-3. As for Arapahoe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Alma wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 62-14 defeat against Dundy County-Stratton on the 10th. As for Arapahoe, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 20-14 victory against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] on the 10th.
