Baseball Recap: Parkway South Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Parkway South won against Rolla on Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Patriots came out on top in a nail-biter against the Eureka Wildcats, sneaking past 7-6. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Jake Frenz looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, August Johansen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Parkway South kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.

Parkway South's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-10. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. As for Eureka, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-13.

As of now, neither Parkway South nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
