Basketball Recap: Green Level Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Green Level won against Holly Springs last Tuesday with 65 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. The Green Level Gators walked away with a 65-58 win over the Apex Friendship Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Gators, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Green Level's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Claire Barber led the charge by going 6 for 15 en route to 21 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Barber's evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Stella Eckhart was another key player, putting up 14 points and three steals.

Green Level was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Apex Friendship only racked up nine assists.

When it comes to explaining why Apex Friendship lost, don't look at Jasmine Nivar. Despite the final result, she went 10 of 19 on her way to 34 points and eight rebounds. That was a full 58.6% of Apex Friendship's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Rooney, who had six points.

Green Level has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Apex Friendship, they moved to 17-4 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Green Level will head out on the road to take on Green Hope at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Green Level is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games. As for Apex Friendship, they will host Panther Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Apex Friendship is on a eight-game streak of home wins, Panther Creek a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
