Basketball Game Preview: Maypearl Panthers vs. Grandview Zebras

The Maypearl Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Grandview Zebras at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Maypearl has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the sixth.

Maypearl came up short against Keene last Friday, falling 68-48. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1353rd, while the Chargers are ranked 394th).

Meanwhile, Grandview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 47-43 heartbreaker at the hands of Lake Belton.

Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Maypearl, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.

Maypearl came up short against Grandview when the teams last played back in February, falling 50-44. Can Maypearl avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
