Volleyball Recap: Ingleside Comes Up Short

Ingleside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the McMullen County Cowboys, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

While Ingleside was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into McMullen County's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-13, 25-14.

Oakley Ruiz paced Ingleside's offense, picking up 11 kills. Ruiz got some help from Launa Walker and her six assists.

Ingleside's loss dropped their record down to 9-21. As for McMullen County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-13 record this season.

Ingleside will head out to face off against Calhoun at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for McMullen County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Bruni on the 7th.
