Softball Game Preview: Barnegat Bengals vs. Pinelands Regional Wildcats

Barnegat hasn't had much luck against Pinelands Regional recently, but that could start to change on Monday. Barnegat will look to defend their home field against Pinelands Regional at 3:45 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, Barnegat earned a 4-1 victory over Trinity Hall.

Meanwhile, Pinelands Regional gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Toms River East a 2-0 shutout.

The result came thanks to Elianna Meola's shutout, as she gave up just eight hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, Kendall Falduto was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Theuret, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Barnegat came up short against Pinelands Regional when the teams last played back in May of 2024, falling 8-5. Can Barnegat avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
