Baseball Recap: Keene Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Keene ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the Trinity Leadership Tigers 7-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

The team relied heavily on Saul Lopez, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Micah Torres, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Keene pushed their record up to 9-13 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Trinity Leadership, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Keene will take on rival Village Tech at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Trinity Leadership is set to square off against their familiar foe Madison at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
