Basketball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 53-41 to the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-46 two weeks ago.

When it comes to explaining why Centennial lost, don't look at Ginger Allred. Despite the final result, she went 8-for-12 en route to 23 points and six boards. Those 23 points gave Allred a new career-high. Pepper Smith was another key player, putting up four points and seven rebounds.

Campbell Wilson had a dynamite game for Rocky Mountain, earning 17 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Wilson has become a key player for Rocky Mountain: the team is undefeated when she posts at least five steals, but 8-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Mckenzie Bybee, who posted eight points along with eight boards and three steals.

Centennial's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Rocky Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 13-9.

Centennial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rocky Mountain, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 41-30 loss against Borah on the 6th.
